Example Sentences -例文

Walking is something we can all do for free and is the best form of transport, but it only works for short distances. If you need to go far away, you will need to drive a car. If you do not have a car you can use a bus or even a taxi. You can also travel by train if you are going very long distances.

A lot of big cities have a subway/metro/tube which is really a local train service to get around the city.

A lot of people use bikes/ bicycles instead of walking as they can go faster. Motorbikes are like bicycles, but go even faster as they have an engine! 200 years ago people did not have these, and instead they travelled by horse. People still ride horses now, but just for fun.

If you need to travel over water, you can go on a boat/ship or fly in a plane if it is very, very far away.

If you are sick, you may travel in an ambulance to the hospital. There are also air ambulances …which are helicopters. If you go in one of these, you are very sick and they have to get to hospital very fast!

Some people do no walk and instead use roller skates. These can be a lot of fun and you can go faster than walking as you have little wheels on your feet. Some people prefer to go on a skateboard or a scooter so they can jump off easily.

You will also see people travelling around Japanese cities in rickshaws, which are like man powered taxis. You sit in the seat and someone pulls you around.
