Example Sentences -例文

People will often ask your age by saying “how old are you?” They might not sure if you are young or old, but they will be able to see if you are an adult or a child.

A lot of your appearance is about your size. When someone describes what you look like they talk about your size. Are you big or small, this can your height, such as being tall or short (or petite). It can also mean your weight, and they might say you are fat or slim.

Your body shape can also be described as broad or narrow and they may even say if you are muscular or fit looking.

We can also talk about how beautiful someone is, or how ugly they might be, but this can be seen as rude to talk about this.

We can also describe if someone looks healthy, but usually this happens after they have been sick, and we are more likely to say “you look” sick, as you do not look normal and healthy or very tired.

Your health can also be described as strong, and if you are old you may be called frail or weak.

Your hair colour is an easy way to describe yourself. The main colours you can have are blonde, black, or brown. When you get old your hair may go grey or white.

You can also have red hair. This can be a natural ginger colour, or the different type of red that you can only get from hair dye.

You can also talk about the length of your hair. It can be short or long. A lot of men shave their hair off and some men will go bald and have no hair.

A lot of men will also grow hair on their face, which is called “facial” hair. You can have a number of different styles, such as a full beard, a goatee, or only a moustache below your nose.

A lot of people now have tattoos and these can be a good way to describe people as they are usually very unique.

Your eye colour is also another way to talk about peoples appearances. Brown eyes are the most common in the world, but you will find many people with blue, green or hazel eyes. Hazel eyes are a mixture of green and brown.

If you eyes are painful, the white area may become red, and you can say some one has “red eyes”

Sometimes you can look at someone and describe your overall appearance. If I say “business man” or “salary man” …you will get a picture in your head of a man in a suit.

The same is true for a farmer, they will be wearing the type of clothes you would imagine. You can even do this with “tourists” they all have the same appearance and you can imagine a picture of them easily.
