I am sure you know that the UK is made up of different countries (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland) and while they all speak English …there are many different accents.
It can be quite surprising to find out how many accents there is. The UK is small, but you do not have to travel very far to hear a completely different accent. Often you only need to travel to the next city along and things will sound very different.
I have made a video that looks at 10 of these different accents, but this is not all of them.
If you want to watch the videos I featured in my video, they are all linked below.
Video
- Northern Ireland
- Scotland
- Geordie (NE England)
- Scouser (NW England)
- Yorkshire (Northern England)
- Wales
- Birmingham (East Engalnd)
- East London
- London/South of England
- Cornwall (South East England)
English speakers around the world also have different accents compared to the UK, such as American, Australian and so on, and I am making a video about these too.
