Example Sentences -例文

Black Friday is an American tradition that marks the start of the Christmas period.

It is always the day after the thanksgiving holiday and it is just a day where the shops have huge sales.

They offer massive discounts on their products and every one rushes to the shops to get a good deal. They want to get there fast before everything sells out.  Sometimes the discount can be as much as 60% so a lot of people like to buy things.

People buy their Christmas presents as well as buy high priced items, since the price is much lower.

These sales are now also online and you may see a “cyber Monday” or “black Friday weekend sale” so you can get discount online, as well as in the shops.

The origin of the name seems to be a bit unclear, but generally it is said that it related to profits and financial loss. The shops would be losing money all year and their spreadsheets would be in the red. However, on this weekend they would sell so much that they would make profit and could record their finances in the “black”.

This yearly sale can now be found across the world in many countries, so it is likely you can find discounts near you at this time of year.
